Maintain and enhance Landscape Maintenance Professionals, Incorporated (LMP, Inc.’s) goal of being recognized as a top performing and highly reputable full service landscape maintenance provider by actively participating in the strategic objectives of:

· Increasing contractual revenue through the facilitation of the sales process.

· Decreasing expenses by ensuring that proposals are reflective of accurate measurements, required man-hours, and true costing for contractual and non-contractual services.

· Cultivating subject matter expertise on LMP’s service offerings, and facilitating knowledge sharing to improve relationships with clients and prospective clients.

· Cultivating a culture of respect and engagement with every employee and client of LMP to enhance relationships and productivity.

Essential Functions:

Business Development and Estimating: 75% of the time

· Sells landscape management contracts that are inclusive of LMP’s range of services to property management companies, commercial properties, multi-unit residential properties and other identified properties, to meet or exceed sales goals.

· Coordinates sales efforts with marketing and those in other divisions to increase market share.

· Prepares/presents proposals in complete and professional manner according to LMP’s standards, inclusive of LMP’s approved documentation.

· Physically evaluates a property to ensure accurate measurements.

· Advises appropriate LMP personnel on the conditions and/or location of a property for the purposes of determining its fit within LMP’s portfolio.

· Assists other LMP locations with the sales and estimating process.

· Ensures all estimates are prepared and approved 48 hours prior to presenting to prospects.

· Sells projects at approved prices to meet or exceed targeted profit margins.

· Responds to all inquiries and requests for bid in a timely manner.

· Attends pre-bid and bid opening meetings on behalf of LMP.

· Coordinates with LMP team members the information needed from their division to complete a request for proposal.

· Provides all Request for Proposal related documents to the appointed Administrative Assistant for printing and binding, 48 hours prior to bid due date.

· Delivers bid packages and proposals to prospective clients.

· Maintains record and tracking of all proposals in progress and timely follows-up to maximize sales opportunities.

· Provide feedback to appropriate parties regarding, pricing, competition and other market observations.

Administrative Responsibilities: 25% of the time

· Maintains and tracks proposals in progress reporting status updates to the Vice President and Corporate Marketing Manager on a regular basis.

· Participates in a monthly sales meeting to discuss open bids, new bids, and possible strategies for converting bids to contracts.

· Appropriately requests any payments required to participate in a bid process. Utilizes LMP documentation to complete the request process.

· Documents and reports expenses related to the sales process.



· 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in prospect relationship management, estimating, bid planning, and business-to-business sales experience.

· Valid driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record.

· Demonstrated time management skills.

· Best Management Practices Certified or the ability to obtain certification within the first 90 days of employment.


· Ability to physically measure a property, and perform basic math calculations.

· Effective and clear communication skills.

· Demonstrable problem solving skills.

· Ability to safely operate company vehicles.

· Effective time management skills, and the ability to prioritize work functions and demands.

· Strong knowledge of landscape plant materials, common diseases and pests, and irrigation components.

· Knowledge of branch office functions, geographic responsibilities, target markets and customer assignments.

· Ability to communicate from any location, and be available to travel to each of LMP’s locations with a high degree of flexibility.

· Ability to generate customer solutions and proposals that are on point, creative and that stay consistent with the brand image of the company.

· Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, to include Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Not applicable.

Work Environment:

· Exposure to outdoor conditions and weather variables.

· Exposure to an office work environment.

· Exposure to stress and a high volume of external and internal demands.

Physical Demands:

· Must be able to operate business equipment including a computer or laptop, printer, copier, telephone, smart phone, and calculator.

· Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body in order to be able to work in various positions including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and walking for extended periods of time.

· Must be able to travel to assigned client sites, vendor locations, prospect sites, and other LMP facilities and offices.

· Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat and cold.

· Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

· Must be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.

· Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

· Combination of office, shop, and field time, where this position is exposed to all of the elements. This includes all weather seasons and all times of the day and night.

· Requires use of appropriate PPE equipment to limit exposure to potential hazards.
