Landscape Maintenance Professionals, Inc. Summary Objective:

Maintain and enhance LMP, Inc.’s goal of being recognized as a top performing and highly reputable full service landscape maintenance provider by actively participating in the strategic objectives of:

Essential Functions:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Prepare drawings or graphic representations of proposed projects and discuss them with clients and suppliers.
  • Have a flair for design, knowledge of plants and soils, and interpersonal skills that allow them to communicate effectively with clients and other workers.
  • Serve as the main point of contact to customer on project installation issues.
  • Demonstrating role model behaviors on ethics and integrity as well as positively promoting Company culture.
  • Supports the Account Manager(s) in estimating, design and client meetings as needed. At times sells services to clients, with or without base maintenance contracts, on their own.
  • Oversee a book of work.
  • Budgeting, materials management, project management, production and scheduling.
  • Ability to develop relationships with General Contractors and Landscape Architects and source new opportunities within targeted market(s). 

Financial Management Responsibilities:

  • Understand P&L statements
  • Understanding of pricing strategies, value engineering/ efficiencies, competitor and market trends.
  • Understanding of AIA reporting, progress billing/ invoicing
  • Development of internal production rates against industry standards.
  • Managing cost reports, analyzing budget variances and recommending strategies to lower project costs; reviewing labor quantities and phases to facilitate accurate project tracking. Ensuring timely and accurate monthly job billings.
  • Understanding of change-order process.             

Facilities & Equipment Management:

  • Ability to develop and produce accurate material needs according to landscape/ irrigation plans design.
  • Understand irrigation systems, identify necessary repairs or adjustments, and communicate recommendations to the appropriate party.
  • Order materials as needed, monitor costs and deliveries.
  • Ability to manage field and administrative needs of active projects, i.e. project management and tracking
  • Ability to source material based on project need, scope, and specifications.
 Employee and Safety Management:
  • Develops teams through recruiting and retention practices inclusive of training, guidance, corrective action, personal improvement plans, and performance management strategies.
  • Manages team members through scheduling and oversight inclusive of monthly quality inspections.
  • Ensures required paperwork for all personnel changes, including new hires, is completed and submitted in timely and accurate manner.
  • This position is in environments that involve safety hazard regulated by such governmental agencies such as OSHA, EPA, and the Dept. of Transportation. In addition, this position needs to be knowledgeable on the regulations to help reduce the exposure of our sales staff giving incorrect information on our services, as well as exposure to all of the safety hazards.
  • Develops, enforces and monitors all safety protocol procedures to be followed by personnel.
  • Hands-on training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment, techniques, safety, and quality standards.
  • Effectively implements and manages any and all policy or procedural changes initiated by LMP, Inc.

Sales and/or Estimating:

  • Ensure branch’s non-contractual revenue opportunities are recognized and pursued.
  • Understand, accept and execute new maintenance contracts within budget specifications. 


  • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Science or Construction Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years landscape experience managing landscape construction.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior customer service, management, and leadership experience within the landscape industry and local marketplace, including 2 years supervisory experience. 


  • Effective and clear communication skills.
  • Demonstrable proficiency with landscape maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to understand gross margins, profit and loss statements and budgets.
  • Proficiency in business programs including Outlook®, Excel, Word, and others.
  • Demonstrate skills in project and time management, team motivation, decision making and technology.
  • Demonstrable leadership abilities including conflict resolution, team orientation, and a firm understanding and commitment to LMP, Inc.’s business objectives and goals.
  • Effective time management skills, and the ability to prioritize work functions and demands.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape plant materials, common diseases and pests, and irrigation components.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • As necessary, perform hands-on work with crews to meet work and scheduling demands.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to proper upkeep and maintenance, storage, use, and training required for equipment.
  • Ensure proper paperwork is completed for all employee changes and hires.
  • Communicate with, counsel, train, discipline, review, and develop employees.
  • Hands-on training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment, techniques, safety, and quality standards. 

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to outdoor conditions and weather variables.
  • Exposure to an office work environment.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Must be able to operate business equipment including a computer or laptop, printer, copier, telephone, smart phone, and calculator.
  • Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body in order to be able to work in various positions including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate landscape maintenance equipment including mowers, edgers, blowers, and pesticide equipment.
  • Must be able to travel to assigned client sites, vendor locations, prospect sites, and other LMP facilities and offices.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend ladders and stairs.
  • Be able to work in extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat and cold.
  • Be able to reach over head with hands and arms; climb or balance.
  • Be able to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
  • Be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Working Conditions:

  • Weekend or overtime hours as necessary.
  • Odd hours are a necessity during inclement weather seasons, if applicable.
  • Combination of office, shop, and field time, where this position is exposed to all of the elements. This includes all four weather seasons and all times of the day and night.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment will vary depending on the assigned jobs, however, it is may be high and requires ear protection while operating equipment.
