Position:       Membership Manager

Reports to the CEO


Collaborating with FNGLA’s staff professionals, the primary role is to increase FNGLA membership growth and assist in strengthening FNGLA’s Chapters


Specific responsibilities include, and may not be limited to, the following:


Membership Growth

  • Develop and implement membership recruitment and retention plans to grow FNGLA
  • Coordinate, manage, track, and evaluate all membership recruitment and renewal activities
  • Develop and analyze membership data to assist FNGLA’s staff team and volunteer leaders in assessing FNGLA policy and program impacts on membership
  • Work with volunteer committee to develop membership marketing and promotional materials in collaboration with communications staff and others on the staff team
  • Oversee the development and set-up of exhibit components, signage and materials for the FNGLA booth/exhibit at trade shows in which FNGLA participates
  • Collaborate with FNGLA’s staff team to identify and communicate member needs, services and pertinent information for websites, newsletters, and other communication vehicles
  • Coordinate with FNGLA’s staff team to maintain current and accurate membership database
  • Respond to membership-related inquiries


Chapter Relations

  • Work with Chapter volunteers to assist Chapter leader recruitment and member involvement
  • Communicate and interact regularly with Chapter leaders to provide support and share info
  • Participate in Chapter meetings and events throughout the state on a regular basis


Experience and Skills Required


The ideal candidate has a:

  • Proven successful record of sales experience involving in-person recruitment, cold calling, follow-up and closing sales in a professional manner
  • Instinctively friendly approach when meeting, talking and building rapport with new, renewing and prospective members
  • Creative spark to develop and implement new actions and methods for membership growth
  • Energetic, positive, professional, and self-motivating personality with effective verbal and written communication skills required
  • Experience within an association membership department specializing in membership recruitment and retention is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strength in customer service, process and project management, as well as database management
  • Ability to work both independently and as a colleague in a highly engaged staff team
  • Natural ability to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
