2018 SUMMER COLLEGE INTERN PROGRAM
The City of Coral Springs is offering internship opportunity to university level students who have completed at least two (2) years of course work in public administration, human resources, information technology, Library and Information Science and similarly related fields. This internship offers the opportunity to gain experience in municipal government assisting with a variety of projects. The Summer Internship program runs May 30TH thru August 10TH. Limited opportunities available with openings in the following areas: Building Division, Code Compliance, Communication and Marketing, Information Technology, Urban Forestry or Landscape Architecture, Parks and Recreation, Fire Administration, Economic Development, Community Redevelopment.
The program goal is to introduce college and university students to the various aspects of municipal government. The program is designed to provide student with real experience to enhance their academic and professional endeavors.
Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college, university or vocational/technical school. Intern hours vary by department. You must be willing to work a minimum of 20 hours per week and attend a mandatory on-boarding orientation.
Interns may require attendance at after-hours business meetings or City events. At the conclusion of the program interns who demonstrate professionalism and proficiency throughout their assigned projects will be awarded letters of recommendation and certificates of completion. School credit may be obtained depending on the specific schools requirements.
All interns will be required to pass a background screenings which may include criminal history searches, driving history check, credit report, education verification, etc.
