Fertilizer Educator

The part-time contract consultant will work closely with the Seminole County Watershed Management Division staff along with UF/IFAS Extension Services, Florida Friendly Landscape Coordinator to help create, implement and execute a comprehensive Fertilizer Education Plan for retail stores and applicators. Services shall include creating new educational material, training videos, facilitating workshops/trainings at retail stores, participating at any industry or retail events, answering phones, distributing printed material, creating newsletters and articles, updating and enhancing websites, coordinating with local environmental groups, master gardeners and civic associations, in addition to other duties as needed.


Experience/Knowledge/Qualifications:


Working knowledge of Florida’s water resources, aquatic plants, turfgrass and ornamental horticulture

Must have a compressive working knowledge of the Seminole County Fertilizer Ordinance

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office computer applications

Ability to communicate clearly

Motivated

Self-starter

Ability to work without supervision and have excellent organizational skills

Must be flexible and willing to work nights and weekend


The part-time contract consultant will be compensated at the rate of $18.00 per hour not to exceed 2,122 hours. Hours must be used by June 30, 2024. Invoices will be submitted to the County on a monthly basis.
