Grower or Assistant

Birdsong Nurseries, a new native plant nursery in Redland, Fl, seeks a hands-on, plant-loving, creative and motivated person with fresh thinking to come grow plants with us. We will focus on providing high-quality, responsibly grown and appropriate plant material to the landscape trade and institutions that need contract growing, and support a few special projects.

Work experience in greenhouse/shade house production is welcomed as are recent college/program graduates looking to get started on their career. As one of our first employees you will need to be comfortable with your role developing as the company grows and be happy to work alone or in groups and content working in a variety of conditions day to day. Some supervisory skills will be needed eventually and speaking Spanish is a plus. We are open to all types of people. 

This is a new position at a new company trying to do some new things. Compensation depends on the person’s knowledge, experience and skill level and there is a ninety-day probation period.
