Irrigation Technician
Job Summary: This position is responsible for watering all plants on the nursery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prime and start the irrigation pumps
- Assess moisture levels in containers to determine water needs
- Bring attention the presence of roots and/or foliage diseases
- Stand up plants blown over by wind
- During frost watch, work continuously to ensure plants are protected from freezing
- Ensure irrigation equipment is functioning and be able to diagnose and repair when there are problems.
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills
- Mechanically inclined/Problem solver
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Walk, bend, and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to recognize watering needs
- Available to work weekends as needed.
Work Environment:
Outside – exposed to very cold and very hot temperatures.
