We
are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant Grower to join our
team. The ideal candidate will assist in the daily operations of our nursery,
supporting plant care, maintenance, and growth activities. The role involves
working with a variety of container trees, ensuring their health, quality, and
optimal growth conditions, while also assisting in the overall management of
the nursery.

Qualifications
· You have a passion for agriculture and you want to learn about all aspects of a thriving business.
· You have a B.S or M.S degree in Agronomy, Plant Science or Horticulture and you have at least 3 years seed propagation experience and crop management on a large-scale.
· You love the challenge of problem-solving, collaborating, and being the go-to resource as well as enjoy the seasonal fluctuations of agricultural production
· You are highly organized, and an excellent communicator.
· You have a strong understanding of Spanish.

Responsibilities
· As the successful Assistant Grower, you will be working with our Head Grower who has been with us for 25+ years!
· This role is responsible for efficiently and effectively producing quality plants through proper cultural practices.
· This role will ensure that growing activities are performed as planned; communication with production manager and operations teams regarding any change to the plan; ensuring that all activities are performed following written work instructions.
· Maintain proper growing methods through fertilization, pesticides, and herbicides ensuring quality production on a scheduled time line.
· Manage cultural environments for each variety and proactive issue reporting.
· Generate accurate crop survey and crop forecast.
· Design “spray programs” and oversee effective execution of programs
· Train and supervise all growers / irrigators / pesticide applicators.
· Assist with crop harvesting and quality control.
· Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
· Propose creative solutions to problems that may arise.
· Assign, review and evaluate work and recommend retention, discipline or termination.
· Act as a role model, working alongside crew members, and demonstrate a positive work ethic.
· Enforce safety regulations at the work areas.
