The Grow & Ship Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution and staffing of greenhouse and fulfillment operations. This people-focused role ensures the on-site team has a clear, actionable plan each day by overseeing task distribution, training, and adherence to SOPs. The Supervisor plays a hands-on role in supporting team productivity, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in alignment with the company’s growing and shipping strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Grow & Ship team in daily operations, including greenhouse tasks like watering, pruning, propagation, and plant care, as well as fulfillment tasks like preparing, boxing, and shipping orders.
  • Own and manage daily task distribution for on-site team members—turning crop care priorities and order volumes into a clear, actionable schedule.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to ensure the team is set up for success each day and that daily productivity and quality goals are met.
  • Train and coach team members on SOPs, workflows, and quality standards across both growing and fulfillment functions.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of plants, packaging materials, and shipping supplies; flag low stock and coordinate restocking needs with leadership.
  • Conduct regular team check-ins and provide constructive feedback to build a strong, engaged team culture.
  • Track key team metrics such as task completion, productivity rates, and quality checks, and share updates with leadership.
  • Observe labor efficiency and communicate staffing gaps, productivity blockers, or scheduling challenges proactively.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspaces in both the greenhouse and warehouse.



Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role in greenhouse, warehouse, or fulfillment operations

• This is a full-time, in-person role — candidates must be comfortable spending most of the day standing, walking, and moving throughout the greenhouse and warehouse

• Able to lift, carry, and move products and supplies as part of daily tasks

• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

• Strong organizational and time management skills with experience assigning and managing daily workflows

• Quick decision-maker who can adapt plans based on changing priorities or order volume

• Tech-savvy — must be comfortable using a computer, pulling reports, reading spreadsheets, and navigating inventory or task management software

• Excellent communication skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

• Familiarity with plant care tasks like watering, pruning, and propagation is a plus
