Arborist

Provides assistance in planning and implementing comprehensive programs for City-wide conservation and protection of the City's ornamental and shade trees. This work involves the enforcement of the City's Tree Ordinance that applies to tree protection and maintenance, and development of tree planting plans.

Essential Functions

Inspects, diagnoses, and supervises the treatment of trees for disease and insect infestations.

Inspects activities of landscape maintenance contractors, reviews proposals and payment requisitions.

Monitors activities of crews to ensure proper care and maintenance of City-owned plant materials.

Provides guidance to crews and technical expertise to other municipal, county and state agencies.

Provides technical information concerning selection, planting, and maintenance of landscape plantings to developers, contractors, engineer technicians and general public.
