We have over 40 years of experience growing plants on hundreds of acres, servicing Garden Centers in large mass-market retailers across the country. Our Production department is currently seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager who is ready to lead, learn, motivate, and build strong, high-performing teams.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Production Assistant Manager to actively support our outdoor production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing crews in labor-intensive industries such as agriculture, construction, landscaping, or similar environments. In this role, you will be directly responsible for supervising and motivating a diverse team to ensure production goals are met while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and quality.

Responsibilities:

· Supervise outside daily production teams, focusing on quality and operational standards.

· Responsible for overseeing multiple crews working in various areas of the nursery.

· Monitor employee performance and provide hands-on guidance to optimize productivity.

· Make real-time adjustments to roles and tasks to meet quality and efficiency benchmarks.

· Assist in guiding and training staff in production methods, quality standards, and safety procedures.

· Analyze production data and report on progress toward goals.

· Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

· 1–2 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating effective team management and oversight.

· Proven experience in receiving and inventory management.

· Fundamental mathematical ability with a keen eye for detail.

· Ability to motivate, guide, and support diverse teams toward achieving operational goals.

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear and effective interaction across all levels of the organization.

· Analytical skills to evaluate performance data and make informed decisions.

· Adaptability to shift priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

· Valid Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required for insurance purposes is helpful.

· Bilingual preferred
