Certification Program Coordinator/Certification Program Specialist
Position Summary
The Certification Program Coordinator supports the statewide delivery of FNGLA’s certification programs by coordinating training sessions, certification exams, and related services. This role is relationship-driven, serving as the primary liaison between FNGLA and its network of certification partners, instructors, and certified professionals. In addition to managing day-to-day logistics, the Certification Program Coordinator plays a key role in internal communication and reporting to ensure the program runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with FNGLA’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination
● Manage and maintain the statewide schedule for FNGLA-delivered review sessions and certification exams.
● Prepare and distribute quotes and invoices for certification services; ensure accurate and timely billing.
● Track participation, pass rates, and outcomes for all training and exam sessions.
Relationship Management
● Build and maintain strong working relationships with FNGLA instructors, certification partners, proctors, and certified professionals.
● Identify new opportunities to expand access to certification through FNGLA chapters, schools, employers, and industry partners.
Opportunity Tracking & Growth
● Monitor the pipeline of certification requests and forecast demand.
● Work with internal teams to assess gaps or opportunities in geographic coverage or program offerings.
● Coordinate with marketing staff to promote upcoming review sessions and exam dates.
Internal Communication & Reporting
● Provide regular updates and activity summaries to FNGLA leadership and staff on upcoming sessions, attendance, and exam results.
● Maintain clear documentation of certified individuals, instructor activity, partner status, and event evaluations.
● Contribute to board reports with accurate program data and summaries.
● Collaborate cross-functionally with other capabilities (e.g., Membership, Marketing, Finance) to support shared objectives.
Operational Support
● Support onsite logistics when needed, including preparation of training and exam materials.
● Maintain and update certification-related content and materials.
● Assist with process improvement to enhance program delivery and participant experience.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
● 2+ years in vocational or agricultural program coordination, event management, or education administration preferred.
● Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a service-oriented value creation mindset.
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based tools; experience with CRM or scheduling software preferred.
● Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
● Familiarity with horticulture, landscaping, agriculture, or workforce training is a plus.
Travel
Occasional in-state travel required (approximately 10–15%) for training sessions, exams, or partner site visits.
Work Hours & Flex Time:
This role typically follows a standard full-time schedule, with occasional additional hours during peak program periods. FNGLA offers flex time, allowing employees to adjust schedules around fieldwork, travel, or evening/weekend events. Core availability between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. is expected for communication and collaboration.
