Maintenance Driver/Laborer
The Lawn Maintenance Driver/Laborer is responsible for safely transporting their crew and equipment to and from job sites, while also performing a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep and appearance of lawns, gardens, and outdoor spaces. This role combines driving responsibilities with routine lawn care duties such as mowing, trimming, and edging, as well as general landscape maintenance. The Driver/Laborer will work under the direction of a supervisor or Lawn Maintenance Foreman and contribute to maintaining high standards of quality and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely drive company vehicle to transport crew members and equipment to and from job sites.
- Mow, trim, and edge lawns using equipment such as mowers, string trimmers, and edgers.
- Prune and trim shrubs, bushes, and small trees to maintain proper shape and appearance.
- Remove weeds, dead plants, and debris from beds, walkways, and other landscaped areas.
- Mulch and prepare soil for planting, including adding compost or soil amendments as needed.
- Collect and dispose of leaves, clippings, branches, and other debris.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area during and after tasks are completed.
- Assist with loading/unloading, setup, and breakdown of equipment and materials at each job site.
- Report any issues, hazards, or observations to the supervisor or Foreman.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean 3-year driving record.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain a company vehicle.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and equipment operation.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to Blue Water Landscape’s office in Hobe Sound.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Compensation: $17-$19 an hour, based on experience
