Outsourcing Purchaser


This is an exciting position that works with both Purchasing and Sales in the green-goods industry of a leading industry player.   The Outsourcing Purchaser is a critical member of the team, helping Cherrylake to provide a seamless one-stop-shop experience to its customers with the commitment of the best quality material on the market. Outsourcing Purchaser will assist teams with purchasing activities for our Outsourcing and Construction groups including scouting nurseries, tagging materials, quality control, development of proposals, locating materials, coordinating deliveries and logistics, order entry and all other purchasing activities.


Assist with purchasing activities for Outsourcing and Construction group including but not limited to:

  • Purchasing and negotiating outsourced materials (shrubs, trees, palms  etc..)

  • Quality Control material before shipment.

  • Assist in specifications and availability for Cherrylake Construction bid process.

  • Take and request pictures of material for submittals.

  • Call Nurseries and locate material.

  • Tag material at vendors or onsite.

  • Maintain accurate inventory for Cherrylake Construction and Outsourcing holding areas.

  • Coordinate deliveries and logistics.

  • Order entry and Accumatica administration.

  • All other purchasing activities.

  • 3 Years experience in outsourcing, purchasing or sales of horticulture plant material.

  • Working horticulture knowledge of plant tree identification by species, specification and size requirements.

  • Bachelor degree in horticulture or business preferred.

  • Excellent customer service.

  • Preferred experience with Google (Gmail, Drive, Docs Sheets, etc…)

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively.

  • Innovative problem solving, research and analytical skills.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be self motivated, able to work without constant supervision.

  • Self-starter and business-minded with good negotiation and communication skills.


Physical Demands: Physically able to stand or sit for long periods of time, drive, and be exposed to environmental heat/cold.

Valid Driver's License with clean MVR.

40 hour work week and may be required to work additional hours during peak times or as needed.
